The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued an interim order directing authorities to prevent any illegal construction activities within the Jaypee Wishtown township in Noida’s Sector 128. This action comes in response to allegations of unauthorized developments by Jaypee Infratech Ltd. in environmentally sensitive areas, including the Yamuna floodplain and the vicinity of the Okhla Bird Sanctuary.​

In its order dated April 21, a bench comprising NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava, judicial member Justice Sudhir Agarwal, and expert member Afroz Ahmad emphasized that construction on the Yamuna riverbed or in violation of environmental norms cannot be permitted.
